Peppered Beef Steak with Horseradish Mash

Lean beef sirloin or rump steaks

5 minutes (rare)
8 minutes (medium)
12 minutes (well done)
If you choose to use Fillet steaks remember they are approximately 1cm
thicker so will need an extra 2-4
minutes cooking time.
2 Lean beef sirloin or rump steaks
450g (1lb) Potatoes, peeled and cut into chunks
15mlsp (1tbsp) Black peppercorns, crushed
6x15mlsp (6tbsp) Fat free fromage frâis
2x15mlsp (2tbsp) Horseradish sauce
2 Spring onions, finely chopped
Pre-heat the grill.
Place the potatoes in a large pan, cover with water, bring to the boil and cook for
15-20 minutes until soft.
Meanwhile take the steaks and sprinkle over the peppercorns. Cook under the
grill according to chart below.
Once the potatoes are cooked, drain and mash together with the fromage frais
horseradish sauce, spring onions and seasoning.
Serve the peppered steaks with the mash and seasonal vegetables.
